The Youth FA’s Under 11 events – Let them play and enjoy the game they love!

Preparations for this season’s series of YFA Under 11 events are well underway. The organisational and logistical aspects of the events were recently discussed during a meeting with the host nurseries Dingli, Marsaxlokk, Mgarr, Siggiewi and Zebbug.  These annual events targeted towards 11-year old players will be held between February and May 2019.

These annual events are aimed at promoting football as fun – let them play and enjoy the game they love and encouraging fair play. Host nurseries will organise a full-day programme for the participating nurseries revolving around the concepts of football and healthy lifestyle, and football with a cultural and educational dimension. Thus, nurseries’ players will engage in a combination of fun activities ranging from football, to cultural and educational themes. Parents will also be encouraged to involve themselves in specific activities prepared for them.

Following the introduction of the green and red card to supporters during last season’s event, the Youth FA with the collaboration of the Malta FA continued to widen this initiative. A set of posters encouraging good conduct of supporters will be displayed around the facilities of the host nurseries during the event date and fliers will be distributed to parents-supporters. At the end of each match players will show a green or red card to their supporters according to their behaviour during the match. This initiative is part of the 2020 Growth and Retention Strategy.

More details on the events will be available in the coming weeks so stay tuned to our website and Facebook page.
