Mqabba FC Youth Nursery appoints new Head Coach

Mqabba FC Youth Nursery has appointed Mr Fernando Costantini in the position of Head Coach as from this season 2016/2017.

Mr Costantini, UEFA B Licence holder, has been involved in football for several years with the last six years coaching in Maltese football in both the senior and youth’s sector levels. After his short career playing football where he had also experience in the Italian Serie C, Mr Costantini completed his studies at the University of Teramo, province of Abruzzo in Italy and was graduated in ‘Management in Sports’. As part of his degree, Mr Costantini worked with the Italian U21 National Team for 3 months.

Meanwhile Mr Costantini studied with success UEFA C and UEFA B in Italy. Between 2008 and 2010, Mr Costantini served as assistant to the director with Padova Calcio while he was also coaching the Under 15 category. Between 2010 and 2011, Mr Costantini was appointed as Coach Assistant with Mqabba FC Senior Team Coach Clive Mizzi, in which season Mqabba FC returned to the Premier Division. Mr Costantini has also experience in coaching in the youth’s sector after joining Valletta (U19), Pembroke (U17) and also Ghaxaq (U15).

In the meantime Mr Fernando Costantini was qualified as Director of Youth Coaching and has also gained experience in head coaching after joining Gzira and Cottonera. Since November 2015, Mr Fernando Costantini was appointed as U17 coach with Mqabba FC Youth Nursery and Assistant Coach with Mqabba FC senior squad. Following all this experience Mr Costantini will be studying for the UEFA A with MFA.

During his experience at our nursery Mr Costantini has demonstrated a positive attitude, commitment and enthusiasm towards the beautiful game of football among youngsters. This approach, combined with his leadership traits, propelled the nursery’s committee to appoint Mr Costantini as Head Coach from this season with the aim to pursue on the strategy and objectives adopted by the Nursery in line with the nursery’s slogan ‘For the Good of the Young’.

On behalf of the members, players, parents and coaches at the Mqabba FC Youth Nursery, the Committee congratulates Mr Costantini for his appointment and looks forward to collaborate with him in his new position with ultimate aim of pursuing the nursery’s objectives.
